New pre-treatment plant in Frederikshavn

Gemidan Ecogi starts construction of a new pre-treatment plant in Frederikshavn.

Gemidan’s director Rune Nyhuus was pleased to see construction works begin for a new food waste pre-treatment plant at the Frederikshavn waste facility.
The new plant will be built and operated by Gemidan, who has purchased a 10,000m2 site at the waste CHP plant in Frederikshavn, Denmark. When completed in January 2019 the new facility will transform food waste into green energy.

Rainwater will be used in the pre-treatment process taken from a lake created during construction. This design feature provides an environmentally friendly source for the water needed as part of the pre-treatment process further adding to the sustainablity of this resource recovery operation.
